GRAMx10 won the 2 posters we were giving away for the SCAVENGER Hunt! Congrates Gram! We had 100's of entries, most all correct .... but none were as funny as Nelvis's, so I will show you all the questions and all the (well scripted) answers!

A. Who was the first woman to race the Daytona 500?
Janet Guthrie....1977....drivin' the #68 Kelly Girl Chevy. (Just a temporary gig though.)

B. Who was the first Nascar champion in 1948?
Robert Byron...Nicknamed "Red"....But hey, everyone was named "Red" back then.

C. Who is the Daytona 500 trophy named after?
Harley J. Earl....Used to be called the Harley J. Earl Perpetual Challenge Award....I think that part was named after Earnhardt.

D. Who is credited for coming up with the name "NASCAR"?
Red Vogt...See yet another "Red"....(NASCAR orignally stood for Nat'l Assn. of Stock Cars And Reds.)

E. What does the blue flag with an orange stripe signify?
Means my Dad has somehow qualified and is out there holdin' up traffic. (Move over.)

F. How old do you have to be to race in Nascar?
Sixteen....But a parent has to drive if you in one of the "beer wagons."

G. Who drove the Quality Care Ford prior to Dale Jarrett?
Dick Trickle....(Hey Sue, Didn't Lake Speed once drive Bud Moore's QC #15?)

H. What year did Ken Schrader win rookie of the year?
1985...With Junie, I think. (My memory Donlavey me.)

I. Which driver was banned in 1961 from Nascar By "Bill France" Because he tried to unionize the sport?
Curtis Turner and Tim Flock....Just your average, everyday, "Norma Rae"-cers....(I wish I could stop. I really do.)

J. Which track has the steepest banking?
Bristol's at 36 degrees.......Then again, I've been at Charlotte' track when the thermometer's gotten up in the 90's, so I know the track had to be around130-140 degrees....Does that count?.......(Okay-Okay, I'm stoppin'.)

Thanks everyone, that was Fun! Extra special thanks to The History of Racing Newsletter! for letting me us your questions!!
We have many more of those posters, so I will start a new contest VERY Soon!

Thanks for reading! Sue :)
