The fall race at Richmond has been a event I have enjoyed for several years now, but this years will never be beat!

We left Friday after Megan got out of school, this would be Megan's first time to Richmond and her first time ever to sit in the stands (poor kid huh)!  We stopped at our "hosts with mostest" (JB and Denise) house first. There we saw Abby, Scott, Lynn and Lyle.  I have had the pleasure of seeing them the previous years but Megan and Dave were meeting everyone for the first time! Tommy and Deena, JB's kids also were home. Lynn, the dear that she is, gave us the tour of the "new" house, I call it new because since last year JB has put on an upstairs and is redoing "The NASCAR" room downstairs!  Amazing all the work being done, Great Job JB!  I want your room with that great tub next year, is that possible!???  hehehe!   Meanwhile down in the kitchen, Abby was working her fingers to the bone, getting food ready and cleaning the kitchen.  We unpacked our car and then made plans to head up to the track (5 miles down the road!) to catch the BGN race. Deena also came along with us.

We got to the track and went directly to the Commonwealth stands where the ADNASCAR Banner was placed, up the stands we went, but It was difficult to get Megan to keeps going up, as Jeff Gordon happened to be out on the track for Cup qualifying and she couldn't keep her eyes of it. This was he first time seeing it from the "right side of the track"!

We finally made it UP to the "Nose Bleed" section where JB, Denise, John, Debbie, Trish, Charlie and others from the ADNASCAR Chat room (Keyword ADNASCAR on AOL) where seated.

Also sitting with The ADNASCAR group were 2 off my favorite advertisers!  Debbie and John from DJ'S Sports Collectibles!! This was our first time meeting! And what great folks they are!

After the race everyone headed back to JB and Denise's house for a little party!  We tucked Megan into bed (the top of a bunk bed, boy was she a happy camper!) And sat around talkin' and eating till the wee hours of the morning!  Great time with great folks!

Saturday morning came VERY fast and EARLY!  We all woke up and took turns in the shower, sat over coffee and discussed, what else, Racin! Then we all started packing up the cars for the tail gate party at the track parking lot .... NOON We all convoyed to the track... We parked our car with the group, then Dave and I immediately headed to the NASCAR Registration Trailer for our credentials and to meet up with Tom. Tom was about to meet and get Jeff Gordon's autograph. You can read all about Toms Heartwarming story from Richmond hereand see how Jeff Changed Toms (Mine and Dave's also) life at the Main page from Richmond! Toms feelings will be posted Tuesday evening, please check back for his side of this Great story!

After many tears and HUGE Smiles, we walked back from the pits to join the tail gate party again.  There was food and friends galore.  It is so nice to sit with a large group of VERY diverse fans and have a civilized and educational conversation about NASCAR! Below is a few images of "The Crew"! you can see more images from Richmond here!

Around 5 O'CLOCK Ru, Terry, Jae and several others joined us and we All headed to the track again .... on the way we heard a dog barking, someone left a Very little puppy in their mini van while the selfishly attended the race. Amazing, what would possess someone to bring their dog with them ALL DAY??????  Anyway back to the race .... we all went our separate ways people were sitting in all different place in the stands and Dave and I headed down to the garage again. There we bumped into Barb! (Babr for those that know me lol)!

We looked for LynnE and Matt From Robert Yates Racing Team News! but we missed them :(. We saw Charlie and Steven from the Melling crew!  Great to see ya again guys!

We chatted with Jada Nadeau for a little while and rooted Jerry on ,,, Jerry seems to win if Jada and I chat during his races, next race we need to chat Longer! But 10th place was a great show for Jerry and again HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jerry!

Every time we went in or out of the pit area on the pedestrian side we saw Denise and hubby Rick, they work security and are LONG time subscribers and friends! About half way through the race Dave and I went for a walk into the stands, maily to just say hi to Tom and see how that smile he had early was doing!  We saw Tom sitting in the handicapped section JUST A GLOWING with pride! Not aware that a few 100 laps later his hero, Jeff Gordon who really took the time to sign Toms Scooter and talk with him, would win the race!  That wins for you Tom!

Then we headed down to souvenir row for a quick looksie and a fast bank account cleaning.  Megan is now the proud owner of a gorgeous Terry Labonte Twill Jacket and an adorable Shorts set to match! (pictures are coming!) The kid is SO Spoiled!  Speaking of Megan and GREAT kids, I would like to, Again, Thank Deena, JB's daughter, for watching Megan for us on Saturday so we could help Tom into the pits for his autograph!  Thanks Deena your a great gal!

The race was great, exciting to the last second!  Jeff's win was great because it topped off talking with him earlier that day and seeing the emotion on Toms face because of Jeff!  I am a little partiatial to those guys in the Hendricks stable though :)

After the race we all flocked back to our cars for yet again some more tailgating! We do this every year to allow the track to thin out.  Hamburgers and Hot Dogs for all!   But amazingly this year some of the hamburgers and also some of the beer (just JB's Michelob?) was stolen from the coolers. But there was still more than enough food and talk to keep us all very happy!  The traffic thinned, the yawns started, it was time for good byes to all the New and old friends. We headed back to JB and Denise's to pick up our sleeping Angel and head south for home.  Again another great weekend at Richmond!

If I missed anyone, I am VERY sorry, but there were just SO Many people to see and I am recalling much of this as I sit here exhausted from the weekend and I am just not near up to par.  This will be my last event for a long time.  I glad it was one I will remember forever! Dave and Megan will also!  Love you all! God Bless!
