Flag-to-Flag Win for Burton at Vegas
Jeff Burton put on a show at Vegas, dominating the Sam's Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Sarting from the pole, Burton led for 149 of the event's 200 laps and won going away, outdistancing Michael Waltrip by some eight seconds. Burton now has four career wins at the Vegas track, two each in both the Busch Grand National and Winston Cup series. Johnny Sauter came home in the third position, while Kevin Lepage and Jeff Green rounded out the top five. Jack Sprague finished sixth and took over the BGN point lead, leading two-time champion Randy Lajoie by three points

A lot of 3 wide racin...

CAUTION 1 Lap #10 - No Bull Contender, Bobby Hamilton (DNF), wrecks all by himself. He was okay, after a hard hit. This ended Bobby's streak of 40 consecutive races without a DNF.

RESTART Lap #14 (after 4 caution laps) Todd Bodine continues to lead!

Takes the lead!
-- Lap 36 - Pole sitter, Todd Bodine,
reports his push is getting worse, he has fallen back to 4th.

GREEN flag pits Cycled out, Sterling Marling continued to lead, he was supposed to be penalized for speeding on pit road, but he was not because the communication did not make it to NASCAR so they did not in-force it while he was on pit road. Basically the penalty would be go strong to bring Sterling back in for the penalty.
-- Lap 134 - Tony Stewart (NO BULL!)
takes the lead.

CAUTION 3  Lap #140 - Oil on the track.

RESTART Lap #144 (after 4 caution laps) Ryan Newman, only taking 2 tires, leads on this restart.  Dale Earnhardt, Jr. also taking 2 tires, Tony Stewart, Sterling Marlin and Kurt Busch are the top 5.

reports high water temps (Big Sigh).

re-takes the lead.

CAUTION 4  Lap #156 - Matt Kenseth got loose and Slid through the infield grass.

RESTART Lap #160  (after 4 caution laps) Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, Kurt Busch, Sterling Marlin and Joe Nemechek lead!

-- Lap 161 - Buckshot Jones had a loose lug nut, NASCAR made him return to the pits

makes and unscheduled pit for a flat left rear tire, he goes a lap down.

RESTART Lap #259 (after 4 caution laps) Single file restart,,, Sterling Marlin, Jeremy Mayfield, Mark Martin, Ryan Newman and Rusty Wallace (no NO BULL Contenders) lead them with 8 laps to go!
