All drivers and crews are wearing the #3 hat ....

This recap was done with tear filled eyes.....
To the wives, girlfriends and families of all of our drivers ... Thank you for your strength and faith, your amazing.

Megan knows we are hurting, she is hurting also, but at 6 years old she doesn't totally understand, Ironically today, out of a drawer FULL of t-shirts she just happens to be wearing he ALABAMA T-shirt, a shirt I picked up from Alabama's store in Fort Payne, while shopping with my dear friend Barb. The shirt, when inside, just simply says Angels among us, with a simple picture of a boy walking in the woods. When Megan goes out into the sun an older gentleman appears of the shirt .... There are angels among us, they show up in the strangest places .....

I am trying to figure out the best way to get The Service tapes to those that need it ..... MANY Of you have offered to help those that were not able to see or tape it .... PLEASE Email me again and give me permission to post your email address for all of those that did not get a copy or see this service. Thanks ( semh@earthlink.net )

Tid Bits From The 36th Annual Dura-Lube 400, North Carolina (Unofficial)
ALL DEI and Richrd Childress crew members up on pit wall.....
- Staff Sergeant Joseph Hunter sang the National Anthem
- DW and wife Stevie said the invocation for today's race, in honor of Dale Earnhardt ... "Do something, take the hand of the person beside and bond together, take a few moments to remember Dale .... " ((What a site!))
- Flags lower to half mast, crews holding up Dale banners. ((oh, This hurts))
- Rock auction winners were the Grand Marshals today.
- Michael Waltrip starts in a back up car after wrecking in practice Saturday.
- DW Said, "Those are tears from heaven", speaking of the rain ....
- I agree with DW, I would feel better seeing that #3 on the race track.
- Every fan in attendance today, received a Dale Earnhardt banner.
- Jeff Gordon Backed off one row leaving the pole position open in honor of Dale.
- On the third (3) lap, FOX will sound out the cars only.
- Partly Cloudy in the Low 60's
- This had to be the LONGEST Day in NASCAR .....

-- Lap 1- Jeff Gordon keeps the lead from the pole ....

CAUTION 1 Lap #1 OH NO, SHOOT, Dale Jr, Mike Wallace and Kenny Wallace Wreck ... Jimmy Spencer and Ron Hornaday continued on, it appeared that Jr. was forced to check up and Hornaday got into him.
Jr. Is limping, sad seeing Jr.'s car go on the tow truck :( JR is OKAY! Jr said he was limping because his lap belt was to tight, he is a little bruised up but he will be all right he added.

Lap 9 - RAIN IS FALLING again, the one to go flag, was waved off ...

There is a possible electric problem with Ricky Rudd's helmet cooling system. Ricky proved he can handle heat a few years ago at Martinsville!

Jr's car was pushed to the hauler :(, he made only 3/4th a lap?

RESTART Lap #31 (after 30 caution laps)

-- Lap 42- DEI Driver Steve Park takes the lead from Pole sitter Jeff Gordon.

CAUTION 2 Lap #45 - RAIN IS FALLING again, many in the pits for 4 tires .... Park leads out of the pits ...

Ward Burton had to pit twice for loose lugs on the left front and Rick Mast's hood is up and there is smoke.....

- Bobby Labonte reports being very tight everywhere.

-- Lap 73 - DEI Driver Steve Park takes the lead from Pole sitter Jeff Gordon.
-- Lap 75 - Matt Kenseth is in the pits overheating (Oh can I relate) Tape was caught in his grill. Kenseth losses a lap.
-- Lap 84 - Stacy Compton pits for 4 tires and goes 2 laps down.
-- Lap 92 - Ward Burton has a push
-- Lap 107 - Jeff Gordon retakes the lead.
-- Lap 107 - Jeff Burton gets loose, slides up and hits the wall, bounces off and keeps going ... into the pit. No Caution

Kenny Schrader, Rick Mast, Steve Park and Ricky Craven Pit ..... This starts GREEN FLAG Pits
-- Jeff Gordon and Ron Hornaday get together on pit road.
-- Lap 134 Kurt Busch hit the wall ... Again no Caution ...
-- Lap 151 Stacy Compton is in the put ...
Steve Park and Jeff Gordon continue to race for the lead.
-- Ricky Craven, started 41st, in up in 4th and racin' fast!
-- Lap 173 -- Kenny Wallace is back out in the unsponsered #30 car, after the wreck he was involved in yesterday
-- Lap 170 -- Jeff Burton is back in the pit, his brush against the wall has affected the tow
-- Lap 180 -- Bobby Labonte takes the lead
-- Lap 190 -- Brett Bodine is in the Pit ..... This starts GREEN FLAG Pits
-- Lap 197 -- Bobby Labonte leads at half way.
-- Lap 203 -- Michael Waltrip had a long pit.
After the GREEN FLAG Pits cycle out Jeff Gordon is in the lead.

CAUTION 3 Lap #243 Mike Skinner gets loose, hits the wall in turn 2 and spins
-- 20 cars are on the lead lap .... All pit.
- Jeff Gordon gets out of the pits first (from the front pit stall)
-- Lap 209 -- Ricky Rudd is way off the pace, he is trying to get of the track and all the way around the track to pit road. He broke his rear gear.

RESTART Lap #249 (after 5 caution laps)

-- Lap 251 -- John Andretti Skims the wall.
-- Lap 260 -- Steve Park retakes the lead
-- Lap 266 -- Mark Martin is back in the pits again? They changed all 4 tires and he went back out? Vibration? Possible lost wheel weight.
-- Lap 269 -- Jeremy Mayfield is also on pit road with a broken left side axle.
-- Lap 283 -- Jeff Gordon reports his car is Plowing (pushing)
-- Lap 289 -- Ward Burton brushed the wall in turns 1 and 2.

CAUTION 4 Lap #301 Stacy Compton is smokin' , he took the #92 Dodge right into the garage.
Jerry Nadeau Had to repit, damage on the right side? Came back out in 17th.

RESTART Lap #308 (after 7 caution laps) - Jeff Gordon retakes the lead.
-- Lap 338 -- Steve Park retakes the lead
-- 5 laps to go and Steve Park has a 1 second lead over Bobby Labonte.
-- 4 Laps to go and Bobby Labonte is right on Parks bumper.
-- 2 laps to go and they are both racing hard .... They both get loose (I can't watch) Labonte goes low, Park blocks and for Dale ........ it is Steve Park! Steve held his #3 hat as he took his victory lap! Then he turns and does a polish victory lap (made famous by Alan Kulwicki) while team mate Michael Waltrip hi 5's Steve and takes a victory lap! Wow! Tears here. The crew had to push Steve into Victory Lane since he ran out of gas .... MANY crew members came out to congratulate Steve, a Dale Earnhardt banner rests on Steve's windshield! Steve jumped on his crew! Mosh! He cried (sigh) ... He thanked Teresa, "Dale taught me how to race, God Bless the whole family, He has been with us all weekend." Steve had a lot to say!
It was just meant to be ... the good Lord shining down on us!
The tears are flowing down here .........

** 2nd straight win for Dale Earnhardt Inc.!!! The #1 Chevy of Steve Park takes the Win!
